Rafflesia azlanii, a parasitic flowering plant of the genus Rafflesia, endemic to Peninsular Malaysia. The flower was first discovered in the Royal Belum Forest Reserve in the state of Perak in 2003, and is named after the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah.

Jose Protacio Rizal (1861-1896), Filipino nationalist and reformist. He is considered one of the national heroes of the Philippines. Studying in Europe, he was the most prominent advocate for reform in the Philippines during Spanish colonial era. Rizal was wrongly implicated as the leader of Katipunan Revolution, and that led to his execution on December 30, 1896. 

 Philippine Declaration of Independence on June 12, 1898 in Cavite at the ancestral home of General Emilio Agunaldo. The event saw the unfurling of the National Flag of the Philippines as depicted on the banknote.
