Kasym Tynystanov (1901-1938), a prominent Kyrgyz scientist, politician, and poet. He served as the first Minister of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic. He was arrested on ungrounded political accusations on August 1, 1937 and executed on November 6, 1938.
