Obverse:

Nicolae Iorga (1871-1940), Romanian historian, politician, literary critic, memoirist, poet, and playwright. Co-founder of the Democratic Nationalist Party, he served as a member of Parliament, President of the Deputies' Assembly and Senate, cabinet minister, and briefly (1931-1932) as Prime Minister; willow gentian flower (Gentiana asclepiadea). 

 Reverse:

Episcopal Cathedral of Curtea de Arges monastery; stylised crusader eagle as Walachian Coat of Arms of Prince Constantin Brincoveanu.
